Did you happen to see this story in The Daily Citizen from the Georgia Beekeepers Association about their upcoming conference?
Come on now, I’m sure you keep up with this organization.
Well, here’s what struck me as unusual, memorable and exciting for their upcoming conference:
Some of the outstanding programs to be held are: Ultra Structural Anatomy of Honey Bees in 3D (3D glasses supplied).

3D Presentation Invades Beekeepers Conference
Wow, seriously? A face-to-face conference presentation in 3D. With 3D glasses supplied. I want to go, not because I’m so interested in the Beekeepers Association but because I’m interested in their 3D presentation. Although, I do like my honey and that would be a great perk.
Doing a little research about the subject, I found several beekeeper blogs with 3d images, like here and here and 3D videos of honey bees at work, dancin’ the night away. Oh, wait, I’m mixing my pop music culture with beekeeping.
I’ve enjoyed some great 3D animations that have been released in the past year. I like to view these movies when the theater is full of small children and react with glee just like those kids. It’s lots of fun and I’m a big kid at heart. To think that 3D could be brought to the next conference near me caused me to smile and feel warm and fuzzy inside. Time to do my honey bee waggle dance!
I can’t wait to see some social media Unguru create a 3D Twitter, Facebook or social media presentation. Maybe at the next SxSW conference or WordCamp? Which social media Unguru will try this? Chris Brogan? David Armano? Beth Kanter? Valeria Maltoni? John Haydon? Amber Naslund? Geoff Livingston? Marcia Conner? Liz Strauss? Lorelle VanFossen? Jay Baer? Kami Huyse? David Meerman Scott? Danny Brown?
I think there are some lessons here that we can use in our face-to-face meetings and educational efforts. Don’t you?
By the way, if you go this conference, let me know how this presentation goes! And take pictures of the Beekeepers audience in 3D glasses too.
